To round off the festivities of Jack Daniel’s birthday month in September, we’re excited to announce what will undoubtedly be one of the most unique gigs of the year. Frank Black, Guy Garvey and Richard Hawley will be joining forces on stage for a one-off show with five established and well-respected Tennessee based musicians – who will be brought together for one night only. They will play at the distillery in the tiny town of Lynchburg on 6th October 2006 to a select audience of just 200 competition winners and invited guests flown in from the UK, and Clickmusic readers will have the chance to be there. In the spirit of all JD Sets, after the gig, the band will celebrate Mr Jack’s Birthday with the fans.
One winner plus a friend will jet over to the US on Thursday 5th October and spend an amazing weekend in the homeland of Jack Daniel’s, with return flights on United Airlines and 4-star accommodation provided. Guests will also be treated to a tour of the Jack Daniel’s distillery in Lynchburg (population 361), the oldest registered distillery in the US, where every single drop of Jack Daniel’s is made. Birthday celebrations will officially start on Friday night, after an authentic southern BBQ, Black, Hawley, Garvey and the musicians will perform live on the site of the distillery.
