Doing pretty much what it almost says on the tin, Funeral For A Friend's latest offering sounds somewhere between maturity and adolescent rock, albeit erring more substantially toward the latter. A chugging rhythmic section gives way to a key -hange chorus that whilst pleasing many, may have some wishing the monotony remained - the result of which could have been devastating in the right atmosphere.
As it is, 'Kicking And Screaming' stands as a piece of music that is as good as it is average, providing all the right elements without ever really straying away from the surprisingly inoffensive sound for a band with such a name. Perhaps it's too many Scream movies, but it just feels like we might have heard this one before.
